Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a construction-education role to assist the project team on a site-based project for a minimum of six months, with a goal to learn Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The role will involve learning field and office operations on a live construction site and supporting the project in RFIs, shop drawings, permits, schedules, and safety procedures. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field and be prepared to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field is required.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing is expected.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, understand architectural/engineering drawings, and cost-coding systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project team in completing designated projects and learn Ryan processes, procedures and policies.
  • Support field and office operations on a construction site for six months minimum.
  • Help generate RFIs and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control and verify dimensions to back-check shop drawing approvals.
  • Assist in vendor and subcontractor deliveries coordination and tracking.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain understanding of site logistics and permit inspection processes.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Attend Punchlist inspections and record items for completion.
  • Assist in preparing and updating the project schedule.

Job Description:

This individual will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects with a focus on learning Ryan processes, procedures and business policies.

The objective is to educate the employee in field and office operations while working from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project.

Some things you can expect to do:
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing log and shop drawing coordination.
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements while field verifying dimensions to back check the shop drawing approval process.
  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of Vendor and Subcontractor deliveries.
  • Learn Ryan Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Gain an understanding for overall site logistics.
  • Participate in and gain an understanding of the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process.
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs.
  • Accompany Ryan personnel (and Owner) on Punchlist inspections, record Punchlist items and monitor completion of Punchlist work.
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule
