  • Proven people management skills, including staff supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and team building.

Role Description

The Project Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, Texas, United States. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of workforce development and human resources projects, ensuring that goals, timelines, and budget requirements are met. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading project teams, monitoring performance metrics, coordinating with partners and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. The Project Director will prepare reports, present project outcomes to leadership, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery. This position also involves coaching staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and representing SERCO of Texas in meetings and community engagements.


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated project leadership skills, including planning, organizing, and managing complex initiatives from inception through completion.

  • Experience in workforce development, human resources, or related social services programs, with a solid understanding of employment and training services.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams, funding agencies, community partners, and employers.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, performance tracking, and report preparation to support decision-making and program improvements.

  • Ability to manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and applicable regulations.

  • Proven people management skills, including staff supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and team building.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, social sciences, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.

  • Prior experience in a leadership or director-level role within a nonprofit, public sector, or workforce development setting is highly beneficial.

  • Comfort working on-site in Houston, TX, with the ability to travel locally as needed for meetings and community outreach.
