The Role

The Geotechnical Engineer, also known as Project Development Engineer (PDE), is part of GSI’s client management team, responsible for identifying and pursuing new projects with key clients in the Geotechnical market, from lead generation through conversion.

Responsibilities

  1. Implement best-in-class sales processes and tools to develop account plans achieving sales targets and growth objectives.
  2. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and expand the client base.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
  4. Conduct meetings and negotiations to understand client needs, address concerns, and propose solutions.
  5. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure effective delivery of solutions.
  6. Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments for risks and opportunities.
  7. Provide sales forecasts and reports highlighting performance and growth.
  8. Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies, including pricing and promotions.
  9. Resolve issues with key accounts to maintain customer satisfaction.
  10. Stay informed on industry trends to identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. 12+ years of experience in B2B consultative selling environment.
  3. Industry-specific experience relevant to the role is highly preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  1. Ability to conduct field visits, walk steep slopes, and assess geohazards.
  2. Travel required; extensive company-sponsored travel expected.
  3. Work location: Must reside in or be willing to spend significant time in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Salary range: $150,000 - $175,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This range does not include potential bonuses or benefits.
