Job description

Do you have a thirst for learning new things? Do you find it rewarding helping other people achieve their goals? Imagine getting to learn something new from college professors every single day, without the need to find the TedTalk nearest to you.

As a Project Development Coordinator at Great River Learning that's what you'd do. You would take the lead in consulting with university and college professors to uncover what those educators want their students to learn, identify what challenges they face in reaching those learning outcomes, and engineer a solution to create better, more engaging, media rich material. It begins by seeking to understand what matters, what might 'move the needle', and how success would be measured. Then, you align the resources, tools, and the rest of the development team to create a prototype that serves as a template for the remainder of the course content.

Imagine playing a critical role in developing the next generation of college course material. The traditional printed textbook is stuck on a shelf, students and educators are expecting....'more'. That's where you shine a light on the path forward.

In A Typical Work Week as Project Development Coordinator, You Will...
  • Oversee multiple publications in various stages of development, ensuring they are advancing through the production process and generating revenue as expected.
  • Manage the relationship with authors in development through bi-weekly calls and Team meetings.
  • Monitor sales and usage of publication that are 'live' and selling.
  • Initiate process using task tickets and workflows (Jira) and update project notes (Dynamics CRM).
  • Interact with various internal teams (sales, production, design) regarding projects and authors.
  • Review and Quality Check production work for products in development.
  • Conduct Project Planning and Scope Development meetings, generate a project 'Blueprint' and provide direction to authors.
Characteristics of an Ideal GRL Acquisitions Manager...
  • has strong active listening skills; is able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
  • has an interest in sales, but also likes developing and delivering solutions
  • is competitive, highly organized, and self-driven
  • has a positive and a "can do" attitude towards life
  • possesses enough leadership, motivation and purpose to hold yourself accountable
  • sees time as a resource that shouldn't be wasted
  • possesses a bachelor's degree
  • possesses a valid driver's license
