Job summary

EDP Renewables in Portland, OR is seeking an entry-level Project Development Analyst to join our fast-paced renewable energy team. You will work closely with Project Managers on wind, solar, and battery storage projects, supporting development from site identification to permitting and construction.

The role offers strong training opportunities, exposure across domains, and a hybrid in-office/field setup in Portland, OR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or related industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • Proficiency in SAP and SQL is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and oversee the development of large-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects by creating and updating project maps and databases using GIS tools.
  • Represent EDPRNA in the field, working with Project Managers and landowners to create, negotiate, and amend agreements, options, leases, and land sales.
  • Engage in community outreach and stakeholder management activities.
  • Organize and attend educational and networking events.
  • Conduct land, market, regulatory, and related project research.
  • Compile documentation, attend meetings, conduct necessary studies, and obtain permits at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Assist with efforts to secure transmission and interconnection contracts.
  • Prepare proposals for power purchasers including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial & industrial customers.
  • Support internal reporting and project tracking efforts.
  • Additional duties as required.

What you will do
Role Overview:

Exciting entry-level/early career leadership role at the cutting edge of the renewable energy industry. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position at the center of project management and renewable energy development. The Project Development Analyst works closely with experienced experts in every domain of the utility-scale renewable energy industry (wind, solar, and battery storage). The Project Development Analyst supports the development of projects from early-stage site identification all the way through permitting and construction. The Project Development Analyst is responsible for handling complex tasks and supporting Project Managers on multiple projects. The Project Development Analyst interacts daily with a diversity of internal project teams and external landowners, community stakeholders, and public officials in various project areas. Main responsibilities:

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • 0 - 3 years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel)
  • Proficiency in SAP and SQL is preferred
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license

Physical demands & working conditions:
  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Walking: Ability to walk .5 to 2 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites.
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
