Job summary

EDP Renewables North America in Portland, Oregon seeks an entry-level Project Development Analyst to support development from site identification through permitting and construction. You will work with project managers across wind, solar and battery storage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in SAP and SQL is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and oversee the development of large-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects by creating and updating project maps and databases using GIS tools.
  • Represent EDPRNA in the field, negotiating and amending agreements, options, leases, and land sales.
  • Engage in community outreach and stakeholder management activities.
  • Prepare proposals submitted to power purchasers including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial & industrial customers.
  • Support internal reporting and project tracking efforts.

What you will do
Role Overview:

Exciting entry-level/early career leadership role at the cutting edge of the renewable energy industry. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position at the center of project management and renewable energy development. The Project Development Analyst works closely with experienced experts in every domain of the utility-scale renewable energy industry (wind, solar, and battery storage). The Project Development Analyst supports the development of projects from early-stage site identification all the way through permitting and construction. The Project Development Analyst is responsible for handling complex tasks and supporting Project Managers on multiple projects. The Project Development Analyst interacts daily with a diversity of internal project teams and external landowners, community stakeholders, and public officials in various project areas. This is a tremendous early-career position for emerging leaders who are seeking professional growth opportunities in the renewable energy industry with numerous training opportunities.

Main responsibilities:
  • Identify and oversee the development of large-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects by creating and updating project maps and databases using GIS tools
  • Represent EDPRNA in the field, working with Project Managers and landowners to create, negotiate, and amend agreements, options, leases, and land sales
  • Engage in community outreach and stakeholder management activities
  • Organize and attend educational and networking events
  • Conduct land, market, regulatory, and related project research
  • Compile documentation, attend meetings, conduct necessary studies, and perform other tasks as needed to obtain permits at the local, state, and federal level
  • Assist with efforts to secure critical transmission and interconnection contracts from utilities and transmission providers
  • Prepare proposals that are submitted to power purchasers including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial & industrial customers
  • Support internal reporting and project tracking efforts

What are we looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • 0 – 3 years of progressively responsible project management experience in energy or a related industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel)
  • Proficiency in SAP and SQL is preferred
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
Travel:

Physical demands & working conditions:
  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Walking: Ability to walk .5 to 2 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites.
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
