Job description

Crawford Architects is seeking a Project Designer/Designer II to join our growing Kansas City office. We promote a creative and collaborative team culture as we strive toward innovation and excellence in our unique practice. In this role, you will assist in various project phases, including architectural design, documentation, and construction administration. Essential responsibilities include:

1. Perform architectural assignments under supervision of firm principals and project managers.
2. Mentor and collaborate with the design team to achieve project goals.
3. Develop and review drawings according to standards.
4. Review developer’s documents for compliance.
5. Ensure quality assurance across project phases.
6. Research and communicate design intent, products, and codes.
7. Assist with feasibility studies, concept design, programming, and master planning.
8. Provide construction administration services and oversee project completion.
9. Develop As-Built drawings for clients.
10. Create digital renderings, 3D models, and concept diagrams.
11. Coordinate project information with clients, consultants, and contractors.
12. Maintain relationships with project stakeholders.
13. Create graphics and research for marketing materials.
14. Mentor Junior Designers in solving technical and design problems.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor of Architecture; MArch preferred. Architecture license is a plus.
• Experience: 5-10 years in architecture/design/documentation.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office; knowledge of USGBC/LEED standards.
• Soft Skills: Strong design principles, communication, attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively, relationship-building skills, and leadership qualities.
