Qualifications

Job description

At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Delivery Leader in Transportation to support existing clients and develop new business firm-wide. As a senior member of our firmwide development team, you will lead various structural pursuits and projects related to transportation, primarily across RK&K's current and new service areas. Join our team and perform a wide range of transportation/highway planning and engineering tasks, including developing and analyzing alternative solutions, overseeing talented staff, and leading highway planning and/or design projects. The candidate must have a clear understanding of AASHTO standards and local state/municipal design criteria. Coordination with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff is required.


This role can be remote with required travel to project locations as needed.


Essential Functions
  • Lead transportation planning and/or design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Mentor junior engineering and technician staff on transportation planning and design tasks.
  • Understand and apply Highway Design Standards and other relevant guidelines to transportation projects.
  • Produce construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats; work well in a team environment.
  • Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on transportation projects.
  • Facilitate meetings, presentations, and plan approvals with internal teams and clients.
  • Direct project staff and sub-consultants.
  • Act as liaison between the client and the firm.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts to secure future work.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years of civil engineering design experience focusing on transportation/highway engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak, InRoads, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local government projects.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
  • Experience working across multiple states.
