Job description

At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Delivery Leader in Transportation to support existing clients and develop new business firm-wide. As a senior member of our firmwide development team, you will lead various structural pursuits and projects related to transportation, focusing on current and new service areas. Join our team to perform a wide range of transportation/highway planning and engineering tasks, including developing and analyzing alternative solutions, overseeing talented staff, and leading highway planning and/or design projects. The ideal candidate must have a clear understanding of AASHTO standards and local design criteria. Coordination with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff is required.

This role can be remote with travel as needed to project locations.

Essential Functions

• Lead transportation planning and/or design projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
• Mentor junior engineering and technician staff.
• Apply Highway Design Standards and related guidelines to transportation projects.
• Produce construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Communicate effectively in written and oral forms; work collaboratively in a team.
• Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on transportation projects.
• Facilitate meetings, presentations, and plan approvals with internal teams and clients.
• Direct project staff and sub-consultants.
• Act as liaison between clients and the firm.
• Participate in business development and marketing efforts.

Required Skills and Experience

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering design, focusing on transportation/highway engineering.
• PE license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak, InRoads, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with federal, state, and local government projects.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
• Experience working across multiple states.
