Job description

At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Delivery Leader in Transportation to support existing clients and develop new business firm-wide. As a senior member of our firmwide development team, you will lead various structural pursuits and projects related to transportation, focusing on current and new service areas. Join our team to perform a wide range of transportation/highway planning and engineering tasks, including developing and analyzing alternative solutions, overseeing talented staff, and leading highway planning and/or design projects. A clear understanding of AASHTO standards and local design criteria is essential. Coordination with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff is required.

This role can be remote with travel as needed to project sites.

Essential Functions

• Lead transportation planning and design projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
• Mentor junior staff in transportation planning and design tasks
• Apply Highway Design Standards and related guidelines to projects
• Produce construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally; work collaboratively
• Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on transportation projects
• Facilitate meetings, presentations, and plan approvals
• Direct project staff and sub-consultants
• Act as liaison between client and firm
• Participate in business development and marketing efforts

Required Skills and Experience

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on transportation/highway engineering
• PE license or ability to obtain within six months
• Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak, InRoads, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office
• Experience with federal, state, and local government projects

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with alternative project delivery methods
• Experience working in multiple states
