Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a talented Project Coordinator - Transportation Infrastructure to join our team.
As a Project Coordinator, you will provide technical project management support for daily project functions, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion of infrastructure projects. You will engage in all stages of the project management lifecycle, from initiation to close-out, as part of project teams.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Participate in planning, implementation, and delivery of project components.
- Monitor project activities, tracking scope, schedule, costs, risks, quality, communications, stakeholder engagement, procurement, and change management.
- Perform detailed tracking and analysis of projects throughout their lifecycle.
- Oversee contracted resources and service delivery, resolving routine issues.
- Develop project management documentation by collecting, verifying, analyzing, and compiling data.
- Prepare technical reports, network diagrams, Gantt charts, and work breakdown structures.
- Support project status reporting and stakeholder meetings.
- Organize public open houses, respond to inquiries, and represent Parsons’ project team.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in reviewing and preparing design plans and contractual documents.
- Prepare progress reports and forecast budgets.
- Facilitate planning sessions to define project goals, scope, and performance measures.
- Respond to public and stakeholder queries.
- Potentially serve as Project Manager for projects as needed.
- Support internal project management controls and client relationship building.
- Contribute to growing project management skills within the team.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in project management methodology per PMI standards.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, with MS Project proficiency.
- Knowledge of project cost tracking, primarily with MS Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently with initiative.
- Discretion and judgment in liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and the public.
Desired Skills:
- Experience applying PMI project management methodology.
- Hands-on experience with MS Project and MS Excel in project scheduling and cost tracking.
- Experience in risk-based contingency management.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields plus at least 1 year of relevant experience, OR
- Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields plus at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR
- Secondary school diploma plus at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Preference for candidates with a PMP designation or eligible to obtain one, especially with infrastructure project experience.
