Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is assisting a commercial construction subcontractor in Indianapolis, IN to hire a Construction Project Coordinator. This on-site, full-time role acts as the glue between our office and the field, ensuring schedules, permits, materials, and documentation are ready before mobilization.

You will translate contract wins into executable field plans, build phased schedules, and coordinate crew utilization across multiple active projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction operations, project coordination, scheduling, or project management.
• Real field operations experience required, not just administrative work.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage handoffs after contract award and keep work orders accurate as details evolve.
• Turn Sales/Estimating sold into an executable field plan.
• Build phasing maps, sequencing plans, and work plans.
• Coordinate production schedules and crew utilization across multiple active jobs.
• Confirm readiness before mobilization with permits, materials, and documentation.
• Serve as hub between Sales, Estimating, Operations and field crews.
• Identify and resolve operational issues before they impact the field.
• Track deviations between plan and field performance to improve estimating and scheduling.

Construction Project Coordinator — Indianapolis, IN

My client is a commercial construction subcontractor looking for a Construction Project Coordinator to be the glue between our office and the field. If you've got real field operations experience and love bringing order to chaos, this role is for you.

You'll be the central point of coordination from contract award through field execution — making sure crews always have what they need: schedules, resources, permits, materials, and documentation, all lined up before mobilization.

What you’ll do:

• Manage project handoffs after contract award and keep work orders accurate as details evolve
• Turn what Sales/Estimating sold into a real, executable field plan
• Build phasing maps, sequencing plans, and work plans
• Coordinate production schedules and crew utilization across multiple active jobs
• Confirm jobs are truly ready before crews mobilize — permits, materials, documentation, all in place
• Serve as the coordination hub between Sales, Estimating, Operations, Foremen, and field crews
• Spot operational problems before they hit the field
• Track where actual field performance differs from what was planned, and use that insight to improve estimating, scheduling, and profitability
• Help build standardized, repeatable processes as we grow

What you bring:

• 5+ years in construction operations, project coordination, scheduling, or project management — experience close to actual field operations is a MUST, not purely administrative
• Strong Microsoft Office/Excel skills; construction software experience a plus
• A sharp understanding of how estimating connects to field production
• The ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping details
• Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through
