Job summary

DBM Vircon in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Project Coordinator to bridge clients and detailing teams, ensuring clear communication, efficient information flow, and on-time project execution. In this client-facing role you will coordinate drawings, troubleshoot design issues, maintain regular client contact, and support project progress to meet deadlines and quality expectations.

The position requires 5+ years in structural steel detailing or drafting, and familiarity with Tekla Structures or other 3D

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related structural steel detailing experience.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and construction processes.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software (Tekla preferred).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication and coordination between clients and detailing teams to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Review and coordinate drawings, identifying and resolving discrepancies or constructability issues.
• Participate in meetings with clients and site visits as needed.
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures or other 3D modeling software.
• Apply a practical understanding of building constructability and industry practices.
• Manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering a superior customer experience.
• Prepare reports, maintain documentation, and support project tracking as required.
• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Uphold company standards of quality, safety, and professionalism at all times.

Position Overview

We are growing and seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

In this role, you will serve as a key link between clients and our detailing teams, ensuring clear communication, efficient information flow, and seamless project execution. You will be responsible for coordinating drawings, troubleshooting design issues, maintaining regular client contact, and facilitating project progress to meet deadlines and quality expectations.

This is a client-facing position, representing DBM Vircon in all project-related matters, and requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of related experience within a structural steel detailing or drafting environment.
• Previous experience in a coordination, lead modeler, or checker role within a detailing office is preferred.
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and construction processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

Education/Training

• Certificate or Diploma in Structural Steel Detailing/Drafting or a related discipline.
• Completion of training or certification in 3D modeling software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Rhino, etc.).
• Leadership or supervisory training is an asset but not required.

Software & Technology

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Working knowledge of Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or Rhino. Tekla proficiency is considered a strong asset, though not mandatory.
