Job summary

SB Energy in Texas invites applications for a Project Assistant – Data Centers to coordinate complex, cross‑functional projects within our growing energy infrastructure platform. You will work with network engineers, data center technicians, and internal partners to draft plans, manage resources, and ensure on‑time delivery within budget.

The role demands 2–5 years of project coordination, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; 2–5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • 2–5 years of project coordination experience in a high‑pressure environment, preferably supporting network hardware or data centers.
  • Experience with data center lifecycles and/or large‑scale networks.
  • Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Strong project management skills, resolving conflict and meeting timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, documentation).

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple, cross‑functional and technical projects.
  • Partner with functional teams during initiation, plan, design, procurement, deployment, and post‑deployment phases.
  • Track program milestones, timelines, and overall deliverables.
  • Manage asset and material inventory across data centers and warehouses.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, reviews, process documents, and risk analysis.
  • Define project scope and objectives with stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Drive project lifecycle milestones from concept to closure and advocate change management.
  • Use metrics and KPIs to measure project performance, provide regular status updates.
  • Participate in internal process improvements, removing gaps across multiple teams and functions.
  • Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as point of contact for vendor partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and assist with regularly scheduled meetings with core teams.
  • Evaluate post‑project results against metrics; recommend or implement changes to improve delivery practices.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Project Assistant – Data Centers

The Project Assistant is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of internal information, system‑specific projects from initiation to delivery. The role coordinates work performed by network engineers, data center technicians, and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments, developing detailed project plans, and managing implementation processes including asset management, resource allocation, progress tracking, change‑control, documentation, training, and on‑time delivery within budget constraints.

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four‑year college or university and 2–5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of project coordination experience in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment, preferably supporting network hardware or data centers.
  • Experience with data center lifecycles and/or large‑scale networks.
  • Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Strong project management skills, resolving conflict and meeting schedule timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, documentation).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
  • Self‑starter capable of learning new tools and processes quickly.
  • Experience creating spreadsheets, presentation material, and project/process documentation.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to track and report metrics, and manage risks.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and communicate project updates to client executives.

On‑site near Lubbock, TX

Compensation

Base Pay: $70,000–$115,000 (adjusted for skills, experience, location, and market).
