Basic Function

The qualified candidate will oversee hyper‑scale data center projects from site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience managing the design of colocation and hyper‑scale data centers, has a background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, and possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center due diligence and design teams to deliver projects that meet the client’s requirements, on schedule and to a high degree of quality. Design disciplines will include architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS.
• Develop and enforce multi‑site project and program management plans.
• Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
• Proactively manage and communicate change throughout the project.
• Identify problems early and develop creative solutions.
• Communicate with all stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve outstanding issues.
• Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design projects.
• Develop trusting relationships with client stakeholders/buyers.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience with data center design management & engineering.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification.
• Active or recent leadership in data center and mission‑critical trade organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic environments.
• Team leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Location

Redwood City, CA; San Diego, CA; Denver, CO; Texas preferred.

Base Pay

Base Pay - $140,000 - $180,000. The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market‑leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package. Final details will be discussed during the later stages of the hiring process.
