Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a detail-oriented administrative professional to support project teams in our Lindon, Utah operations. The role involves handling RFIs, distributing project plans, managing POs, and coordinating field drawings and meetings, with cross-training across procurement and billing functions.

Preference is given to candidates with construction-industry exposure, solid communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and punctuality.
  • Willingness to cross-train as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer information requests (RFI).
  • Distribute project plans to detailers, generals, and vendors.
  • Run costs and CSR status reports.
  • Manage purchase orders and track until paid.
  • Send field use drawings when requested.
  • Report federally funded projects to GC and PM.
  • Assist with pre/post start-up meetings.
  • Handle ordering, procurement, and billing per PM guidance.
  • Create Extra Logs for new projects and review pricing with PM.
  • Track extra releases for PM review and billing.
  • Prepare for meetings and support specialty projects as directed.
  • Respond to customers and field staff via email/phone for PM coverage.

What You'll Do
  • Preparation and administration of requests for information (RFI)
  • Confirms the distribution of various project plans to detailers, generals and vendors
  • Run costs to complete cost status reports (CSR)
  • Manages purchase orders (PO) for various outside vendors, etc. and tracks until paid
  • Send out field use drawings when requested
  • Reports of federally funded projects to general contractor (GC) , corporate directed by project manager (PM)
  • Administrate Pre and post start up meetings
  • Responsible for administrative measures of the ordering, procurement and billing of all specialty items as directed by the project manager (PM)
  • Creation of Extra Log for new projects and reviews contract/specifications regarding pricing with the project manager (PM)
  • Identification and Tracking of Extra releases for PM review and making sure they have been billed
  • Perform additional meeting prep or specialty projects as directed by project manager (PM) or Operations Manager.
  • Responding to the customer, detailers, field staffand to all emails and phone calls when providing project manager (PM) coverage
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Communicate effectively – oral and written
  • Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual
  • Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits
  • Must be able and willing to cross train as required
  • Able to work overtime as business requires
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
