Job summary

Diversified Services Network in Lafayette, IN seeks a Project Manager to lead mid-to-large projects in manufacturing and quality contexts. You will plan projects, track schedules, coordinate with suppliers, customers and internal teams, and drive issue resolution to meet timelines and cost targets.

  • Provide facilitation for project teams, leading control meetings and chartering/planning sessions for medium to large projects.
  • Maintain program-level issues/action logs, risk registers, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, and program cost tracking.
  • Be successful in implementing projects on time, within cost, and within quality targets.
  • Maintain and improve processes for generating customer deliverables.
  • Capture project information, analyze data from schedule updates, resolve logic errors, and update plan accordingly.
  • Make recommendations to the project team to resolve schedule and project cost issues.

Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform project planning, identify critical issues, and drive the project team to resolve gaps and problems. May work directly with different units, suppliers, customers and/or other teams.
  • Work on project schedules, status updates, collecting updates from team members on projects, variance reporting, risk reporting.
  • Provide facilitation for project teams, leading control meetings and chartering/planning sessions for medium to large projects.
  • Maintain program-level issues/action logs, risk registers, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, and program cost tracking with little follow-up from the Program Management Supervisor.
  • Be successful in implementing projects on time, within cost, and withinquality targets.
  • Maintain and improve processes for generating customer deliverables.
  • Capture project information, analyze data from schedule updates (e.g. critical path), work with project team members to resolve logic errors, help explain changes due to updates, and update plan according to actions taken by the project team to resolve schedule problems.
  • Make recommendations to the project team to resolve schedule and project cost issues.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 2-3 years of real-world experience managing projects with a background in manufacturing and/or quality.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
