Job summary

TP Mechanical is seeking a Project Coordinator to manage BIM coordination, maintain schedules, and drive fabrication and site readiness. You will lead coordination meetings, review models, and ensure seamless integration between design, fabrication, and construction teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in project coordination within construction or mechanical systems, strong Revit experience, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in construction or mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of design-build and design-assist processes.
• Experience with Revit is highly preferred.
• Good basic computer skills and detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership abilities.

Position Summary: The project coordinator is responsible for tracking and managing the BIM coordination process ensuring that the schedule is met and reducing any roadblocks throughout the process. There are times when the position will be responsible for running coordination for some projects. Upon completion of coordination the project coordinator is responsible for tracking and managing the fabrication process through the purchasing, building and shipping processes to ensure that the fabrication is delivered to site on time and is built correctly.

There are times when the position will be responsible for running coordination for some projects. Upon completion of coordination the project coordinator is responsible for tracking and managing the fabrication process through the purchasing, building and shipping processes to ensure that the fabrication is delivered to site on time and is built correctly.

Responsibilities And Duties

Pre-Construction & Project Kickoff:

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the awarded project and all available documentation.
• Identify project schedules and understand unique project delivery methods (design-build, design-assist, etc.).
• Set up internal kickoff meetings and coordinate initial team onboarding.
• Obtain and manage architectural, structural, and MEP models.

Coordination & Design Integration

• Lead and facilitate project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Determine coordination responsibilities, manage scopes, and schedule scope review meetings with subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain coordination schedules and ensure integration into master schedules.
• Coordinate with the Data/Technology Manager on file-sharing platforms and processes.
• Conduct and review clash detections regularly; provide issue resolution strategies.
• Maintain and review pipe spec sheets and submittal logs in collaboration with procurement.

Fabrication Planning & Oversight

• Create, maintain, and gain approval for fab plans based on project key plans.
• Ensure consistency in naming conventions and formatting of fabrication schedules.
• Drive the spooling and approval process for fabrication work orders (WOs).
• Track fabrication progress and maintain accurate documentation in the fab tracking sheet.

Construction Support

• Act as the primary liaison between fabrication and construction teams.
• Manage field drawing submissions and ensure they meet fab shop requirements.
• Assign and track WOs and ensure accuracy of site due dates.
• Walk the site regularly to monitor project status and provide scheduling input.
• Adjust fabrication schedules based on field progress and coordinate recovery strategies as needed.

General Duties

• Maintain detailed weekly progress notes and share updates with leadership.
• Ensure prompt communication via phone, email, and meetings.
• Take ownership of project success, thinking proactively and creatively to solve emerging challenges.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in construction or mechanical systems.
