Job summary

Blackstone Talent Group seeks a Project Controls Specialist in San Mateo, CA, offering hybrid remote/onsite work. The role focuses on cost analysis, budgeting, accrual accounting, procurement, and earned value management across capital projects in design and construction management.

You will support budget development, cost/schedule performance, risk and change management, and forecasting for multiple programs. This is a contract-to-hire position with potential for long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Business, or Accounting from an accredited college or university preferred or equivalent training and experience in project management.
• 5+ years of experience in project controls or related fields.
• Experience in transportation or public agency projects is preferred.
• Project controls, architecture and/or engineering design and/or construction management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist client and internal project managers with managing multiple projects through the entire development life cycle from concept including project management plans, contracting plans, risk register.
• Collaborate with all parties to ensure project progress according to plan while juggling several projects simultaneously.
• Support the development of monthly budget and schedule performance analyses.
• Set up cost control systems to link accounting functions and track reporting of commitments, actual costs and forecasts according to project codes and work breakdown structure.
• Provide project management team timely information to facilitate informed decisions and corrective actions.
