Job Summary
  • Assists project management teams by developing, monitoring, and updating estimates and/or an integrated project plan and schedule to ensure efficient project execution. Applies methods, standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, and templates to manage, develop, and control project estimates and schedules. Receives assignments in the form of expected results within policies and procedures. Has discretion to select approaches; decisions may involve changes to work processes. This is an individual contributor role.
Key Accountabilities
  • Supports project team efforts in developing project plans and translating them into estimates and schedules.
  • Develops and analyzes project estimates or schedules, including CPM software implementation, delay analysis, and schedule reviews.
  • Ensures the credibility of estimate and schedule data.
  • Assists in preparing project time and/or cost claims.
  • Records historical estimate and schedule information and lessons learned.
  • Applies methodologies, tools, and standards for estimating and planning/scheduling, with knowledge of relevant software.
  • Maintains estimating and scheduling controls.
  • Participates in continuous improvement through benchmarking and industry affiliations.
Scheduling Specific Responsibilities
  • Develops master and detailed schedules with milestones, WBS, costs, labor, resources, and resource leveling.
  • Monitors and updates progress, informing management of changes.
  • Prepares progress reports, trend charts, and forecasts, analyzing effects on the critical path and developing recovery plans.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

This role can be filled through one of the following options:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related field + 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Associate degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Math, or related field + 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • High School or GED + 7+ years of relevant experience.
Other Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Scheduler: 2+ years with Primavera P6.
  • Estimator: 2+ years in construction estimating for large projects.

Additional Requirements:

  • Physical ability to work in a power plant environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop cross-functional work groups.
  • Knowledge of financial, economic, project, and risk management.
