Qualifications

Federal Project Controls Specialist

REMOTE


Pay Range: $80k-$110k


Overview

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support Federal Environmental and Construction, or Commercial Construction business units. The Project Controls Specialist will assist the project team with the development and maintenance of cost and schedule control tools that guide efforts towards timely and profitable project completion. These tools will also provide project performance data to project and program management.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide project controls support for projects with high complexity and/or risk factors.
  2. Supervise cost and schedule reporting for programs with multiple delivery orders.
  3. Participate in project kickoff meetings, collaborating with project managers, estimators, and financial analysts to develop cost/schedule control systems.
  4. Document control systems with appropriate procedures specific to each project or program.
  5. Prepare profitability models to analyze contribution and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Develop and maintain accurate cost and resource-loaded CPM schedules.
  7. Gather data through interviews with project team members for scheduled accomplishments and projections.
  8. Summarize data in reports to aid timely decision-making by project managers.
  9. Support resource allocation needs of corporate and local management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus 2 years (or equivalent) of experience in project controls or project engineering within Federal environmental and construction, or Commercial construction. Required computer skills include knowledge of CPM scheduling software (Primavera preferred), Microsoft Excel, and Access.

Level of Autonomy

Decisions involve selecting techniques, software, and reporting requirements to assist project managers in managing cost, schedule risk, and profitability. Active participation in meetings and direct interface with technical disciplines, procurement, and contracts are required. The role demands the ability to prepare client-ready reports and to advise on course of action for project success, with a high degree of autonomy and initiative.
