Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Project Controls Professional III to work on-site in Richland, WA, supporting nuclear development projects. This role develops and maintains project schedules, cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting for complex programs.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and cost management, with proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Office, Power BI, and project reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in project controls/PM in an industrial setting.
  • Or an AA degree with 9 years of project controls experience or a high school diploma with 11 years of experience.
  • Formal Primavera P6 training or similar project management software.
  • Experience with cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Knowledge of GASB and governmental accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze schedules, cost estimates, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate, track, and support execution of estimates, budgets, and control activities.
  • Monitor scope, schedule, and cost performance, identify variances and risks.
  • Prepare and deliver status reports, cost analyses, earned value reports, and management presentations.
  • Provide guidance on controls processes, scheduling tools, and reporting.
  • Perform budget-to-actual analysis, forecasting, and contingency reconciliation.
  • Support labor and overhead cost budgeting and other financial analyses.
  • Generate data from GL, budgeting tools, Power BI, and project systems.
  • Assist with month/year-end closing and financial reporting.

Job description

Overview

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Project Controls Professional III, will support nuclear development projects by developing and maintaining project schedules, cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting. The role is responsible for monitoring project scope, schedule, and cost performance, conducting variance and cost analyses, preparing management reports, and supporting project controls activities. Qualified candidates will have experience in project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and cost management, along with proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Office applications, and project reporting tools. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.


Pay rate: $110.24 - $158

Responsibilities


  • Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules, cost estimates, forecasts, and performance metrics for nuclear development projects.

  • Coordinate, track, and support the execution of project estimates, budgets, and project control activities.

  • Monitor project scope, schedule, and cost performance, identifying variances, risks, and potential impacts to project objectives.

  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, cost analyses, earned value reports, and management presentations.

  • Support project managers by providing technical guidance on project controls processes, scheduling tools, cost estimating, and performance reporting.

  • Perform budget-to-actual analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, and reconciliation of contingency balances.

  • Assist with labor cost budgeting, employee benefit cost monitoring, overhead allocations, and other financial analyses.

  • Generate and interpret data from financial and project management systems, including general ledger, budgeting tools, Power BI, and project controls software.

  • Support month-end, year-end, and annual budget cycle activities, including financial reporting and closing processes.

  • Maintain project controls documentation, budget procedures, desk manuals, and training materials.

  • Apply accounting, budgeting, and governmental accounting principles to project and financial reporting activities.

  • Communicate project status, risks, schedule changes, and cost impacts to project managers, leadership, and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, management teams, and external agencies to support project objectives and reporting requirements.



Requirements


  • Requires a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 8 years of experience in a project controls/project management position in an industrial environment.

  • OR AA degree and 9 years of project controls / project management experience.

  • OR High School diploma or GED and 11 years of project controls / project management experience in lieu of degree.

  • Formal training in Primavera P6 or another project management software system.

  • Experience with project controls, project scheduling, cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and project performance reporting.

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies and project controls best practices.

  • Experience performing cost analysis, budget-to-actual reporting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software.

  • Understanding of project management principles, scheduling processes, and cost control methodologies.

  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles, including financial reporting and reconciliation processes.

  • Familiarity with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements and applications.

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and data validation skills.

  • Ability to develop reports, presentations, and project documentation for various stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting complex projects in a regulated, industrial, energy, utility, or similar environment.

  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to groups and leadership teams.
