Overview
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This New Nuclear Electrical Engineer III role provides technical leadership and accountability in assuring the technical adequacy and appropriateness of all engineering activities within its area of discipline responsibility. The position serves as a recognized technical authority supporting Owner's Engineer oversight, advanced reactor technology evaluations, construction activities, and progressive design-build contracts. In addition, the position provides broad technical capability based on extensive experience in solving complex engineering problems and applying engineering principles. This position retains primary accountability for compliance with design basis requirements, interpretation of regulatory requirements, and the proper application of engineering methods in design and analysis.
This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay range: $61.73 - $84.41

Responsibilities
- Perform highly complex engineering analyses in support of operations, systems, programs, audit inspections, and assessments.
- Develop highly complex engineering designs using engineering methods, analyses, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Serve as an advisor on assignments involving specialized or unique engineering requirements.
- Provide advice and counsel on complex engineering matters.
- Develop solutions using unconventional or innovative problem-solving techniques.
- Provide technical leadership on highly complex or long-term projects.
- Provide training and guidance to engineering staff.
- Perform work involving highly complex problem-solving and advanced application of engineering practices and methodologies.
- Lead small groups in resolving complex technical issues.
- Develop solutions in situations where little or no established guidance exists.
- Apply advanced technical expertise to address challenging engineering problems.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to other engineers.
- Serve as a mentor to engineering staff.
- Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to others.
- Identify the need for new policies, programs, plans, and procedures.
- Initiate the development of policies, programs, plans, and procedures to support strategic objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry guidance.
- Interpret regulatory and industry guidance and provide direction on its application.
- Identify potential issues related to design, quality, or operations.
- Initiate corrective actions in accordance with the plant Condition Report (CR) process.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 7 years of engineering experience; OR
- High school diploma or GED and PE license obtained by accredited examination plus 8 years of engineering experience
- Knowledge of advanced nuclear reactor and plant design (e.g., High-Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor design)
- Knowledge of ASME, IEEE, NFPA 70, and NERC codes and requirements
- Knowledge of high-, medium-, and low-voltage system design and coordination
- Broad experience in the electrical design of substations and transmission systems, transformers and switchgear, cable raceways, grounding and protection systems, and digital relays and controls
- Experience with large construction projects
- Commercial nuclear plant experience is desirable
- PE license is desirable
