Job summary

KEITH Engineering Design in Pompano Beach, FL seeks a detail-oriented Project Controls Manager to oversee project financial controls, forecasting, and billing integrity. You will partner with project managers to improve profitability and financial visibility across disciplines.

The role requires 8+ years in project accounting within A/E/C, strong Deltek experience, and a proven ability to manage budgets, WIP, and invoicing while ensuring contract compliance and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• 8+ years in project accounting, financial controls, or project administration in A/E/C.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, forecasting, WIP, revenue, billing, profitability, and cost controls.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar project accounting software.
• FDOT or public agency billing experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with project managers and operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project financial controls, forecasting, contract compliance, systems, and financial performance across the organization.
• Partner with Project Managers, Discipline leadership, and Operations to improve profitability and visibility.
• Oversee proposal financial strategy: budgets, pricing alignment, margins, and contract-ready docs.
• Review contracts for fee types, billing terms, retainage, and change management.
• Govern Deltek setup, data standards, and project setup consistency.
• Lead resource planning and utilization across disciplines to support financial objectives.
• Oversee forecasting: budget management, cost-to-complete, revenue planning, portfolio profitability.
• Manage invoicing performance and billing schedules.
• Direct AR management to mitigate aging risks and support dispute resolution.
• Lead WIP management and month-end closeout for accurate reporting.
• Monitor project performance and identify risk, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with client, contract, and agency billing requirements (FDOT, etc.).
• Oversee project scheduling alignment with budgets and milestones.
• Establish standards for contracts, change orders, billing documentation, and financial records.
