Job summary

Day & Zimmermann seeks a Project Controls Manager to join Day & Zimmermann Projects on a solar construction project in Union Springs, AL.

The role emphasizes Earned Value reporting, cost control, and coordination with client executives. Candidates should have 10+ years in project controls, solar project experience, and PMP certification is a plus. Strong MS Word/Excel/Power BI skills are required. Travel may be involved.

Qualifications

  • Ten plus years of project controls experience, preferably on solar projects.
  • Solar project experience required or preferred.
  • PM/ PMP certification a plus.
  • Some college or post-secondary education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance for site Project Controls personnel & assist with troubleshooting field project controls issues.
  • Interface with clients and Business Unit VP's to ensure required deliverables are met, including monthly/period reports and project reviews.
  • Participate in Project Support Team activities & Periodic audits of processes to ensure contractual and procedural compliance; travel.
  • Coordinate all interface report out meetings between our client and field sites.
  • Coordinate start up of new field sites and demobilization of same when complete; field assignments.
  • Coordinate placement of field personnel.

We’re looking for a Project Controls Manager to join our Day & Zimmermann Projects team on site at our solar construction project in Union Springs, AL.


Anticipated project duration: 2 years


The Big Picture – Top Skills You Should Possess:


  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and exceptional management and organizational skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and must possess the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Knowledge of general project controls functions (including Earned Value Reporting) and the ability to plan, organize, budget, and monitor progress on firm fixed price projects

  • Good computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power BI.

  • SAP R/3, and Primavera P6 knowledge is a plus.


What You Will Be Doing:


  • Provide support and guidance for site Project Controls personnel & assist with troubleshooting field project controls issues. Also, coordinate support of the reporting process.

  • Interface with clients and Business Unit VP's to ensure the required deliverables are being met, including monthly/period reports and project reviews.

  • Participate in Project Support Team activities & Periodic audits of processes to ensure Contractual and Day & Zimmermann Procedural compliance. This activity will include travel.

  • Coordinate all interface report out meetings between our client and field sites.

  • Coordinate start up of new field sites and demobilization of same when complete. This activity will include Field Assignments.

  • Coordinate placement of field personnel


What You Need To Bring To The Table:


  • Some college or post secondary education preferred

  • Ten plus years experience in related project controls assignments

  • Solar project experience

  • Computer proficiency certifications a plus or equivalent education

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.


In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $119,000 – $176,800. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
