Job summary

Loenbro, LLC in Dallas, TX is seeking a Project Controls Manager to implement, train, and audit project controls on large construction projects. You will support area and project teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and provide client-facing and internal reporting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience in commercial/industrial construction.
  • Electrical experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with scheduling, cost control, and reporting.
  • Experience with HCSS HeavyJob, P6, Viewpoint, Heavy Bid and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with project management and leadership; prepare reports and presentations.
  • Identify design/scope changes, schedule slippages, and mitigations; track costs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction.
  • Oversee baseline cost/schedule/progress processes and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Ensure full implementation of company processes and industry best practices for project controls.
  • Establish risk management, document findings, and track impacts.
  • Ensure progress percentages are accurate and develop progress measurement for scopes.
  • Develop and manage project schedule development and updates; align with master schedule.
  • Manage required reporting and ensure timely submission per project schedule.

Position Overview

Responsible for implementing, training, and auditing all project controls functions on large construction projects. This position works in close partnership with the Regional, Area and Project Management teams to ensure that the project is delivered on time and on budget. The primary responsibility is to support the Area and Project Manager regarding all client facing and internal reporting. Project Controls activities include project kickoff, project tracking, productivity monitoring, update P6 scheduling, contract management, change order control, project billing, EOM reporting/forecasting and project closeout.

Job Duties
  • Interact with the Project Management team and corporate management team and participate in regular project meetings. Gather information and prepare reports and presentations of information as needed on the project.
  • Identify and communicate design changes, scope changes and schedule slippages and potential impacts and participate in the identification of mitigations. Ensure trends of cost and schedule are identified, manage change management process and communicate and suggest corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with cross functional team in project setting, ensure project controls team members are interfacing with engineering, procurement, contracts and construction on concepts and relationships to the scope of work and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Oversees project baseline process for cost, schedule and progress and ensure all project systems are implemented according to process and company standards and procedures.
  • Ensure full implementation of company processes and procedures as well as industry best practices with regards to project controls on the project following the company process.
  • Establish risk management protocol which includes identification, documentation, mitigation and tracking of potential risks on the project. In addition, determine potential cost and schedule/progress impacts of potential risks as they are identified.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reported progress percentage based on the rules of credit established within the project. Develop progress measurement process for required scopes of work.
  • Establish and manage project schedule development, review and update processes and ensure accuracy and alignment with the overall master schedule.
  • Manage and ensure all project required reporting is pared and submitted as per approved reporting schedule for the project.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of Project controls experience in the construction of commercial / industrial projects. Electrical experience preferred.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or similar job costing program.
  • Experience with P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software.
  • Experience with Heavy Bid or similar estimating software.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Driver’s license with a clean driving record and maintenance of such driving record.
