Job summary

Aegis is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support for our data center practice. You will join a team of professionals to develop, manage, and monitor CPM schedules and project control systems throughout project lifecycles.

This on-site role offers growth opportunities in a fast-paced environment. Requirements include 3+ years in project controls and CPM scheduling in vertical construction, experience with data centers, a Bachelor’s degree (or 5+ years applicable

Qualifications

  • Three+ years of project controls and CPM scheduling in vertical construction.
  • Experience in data center project controls preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree requirement may be waived with 5+ years vertical construction experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and interpretation of construction documents.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor CPM schedules for construction projects.
  • Review documents to develop baseline schedules with all dates, activities, and milestones.
  • Perform progress updates with reporting and narratives.
  • Analyze schedules to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct site walks for progress validation and monthly reporting packages.
  • Present contractor progress to management for decision-making.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program.
  • Manage costs and resources and generate reporting.

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support services to our valued client\'s data center practice. This position will work with a team of professionals, including client project managers, construction professionals, and project stakeholders, to develop, manage, and monitor CPM schedules and project control systems throughout a project's life cycle. This role is a significant project team position with many growth opportunities.

General responsibilities include:
  • Development, maintenance, and monitoring of construction CPM Schedules.
  • Review project documents and specifications to develop baseline schedules that accurately include all required dates, activities, and milestones.
  • Perform progress schedule updates to include comprehensive reporting and narratives.
  • Review project schedules and provide recommendations based on execution goals.
  • Perform critical path analyses, identify schedule-related problems, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct site walks for progress validation and prepare monthly reporting packages for the project site team.
  • Review the contractor’s progress and present it to management for decision-making.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting.
  • Identification and evaluation of risk and impacts within project schedules.
  • Communicate project status and challenges effectively.
  • Meet with project teams, clients, owners, and various stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Three or more years of experience in project controls and CPM scheduling within the vertical construction industry.
  • One or more years of experience in project controls for data centers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or a related field. This requirement may be waived with five or more years of direct, vertical construction industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction documents.
  • Knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequences.
  • Experience developing construction project schedules for data center projects.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting,
  • Familiarity with contractual clauses as they apply to planning and scheduling,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously,
  • AACEI PSP or PMI-SP certification(s) preferred.
  • This role requires being full-time on-site.
