Job summary

The Aegis Companies is seeking a Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support for data center projects. You will work with client project managers, construction professionals, and stakeholders to develop, manage, and monitor CPM schedules throughout the project life cycle.

This on-site, full-time role emphasizes Primavera P6, CPM scheduling, and cost/resource reporting, with opportunities for growth and advancement while maintaining project scope and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Three+ years of experience in project controls and CPM scheduling within the vertical construction industry.
  • One+ years of experience in project controls for data centers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or related field (waived with 5+ years of vertical construction experience).
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents.
  • Knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequences.
  • Experience developing construction project schedules for data center projects.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting; familiarity with contractual clauses as they apply to planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Role is full-time on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Development, maintenance, and monitoring of construction CPM Schedules.
  • Review project documents and specifications to develop baseline schedules with all dates, activities, and milestones.
  • Perform progress schedule updates with reporting and narratives.
  • Review project schedules and provide recommendations.
  • Perform critical path analyses and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct site walks for progress validation and monthly reporting.
  • Review contractor progress and present to management.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting.
  • Identify risks and impacts within project schedules.
  • Communicate project status and challenges to stakeholders.
  • Meet with project teams, clients, owners, and stakeholders.

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support services to our valued client's data center practice. This position will work with a team of professionals, including client project managers, construction professionals, and project stakeholders, to develop, manage, and monitor CPM schedules and project control systems throughout a project's life cycle. This role is a significant project team position with many growth opportunities.

General responsibilities include:
  • Development, maintenance, and monitoring of construction CPM Schedules.
  • Review project documents and specifications to develop baseline schedules that accurately include all required dates, activities, and milestones.
  • Perform progress schedule updates to include comprehensive reporting and narratives.
  • Review project schedules and provide recommendations based on execution goals.
  • Perform critical path analyses, identify schedule-related problems, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct site walks for progress validation and prepare monthly reporting packages for the project site team.
  • Review the contractor’s progress and present it to management for decision-making.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting.
  • Identification and evaluation of risk and impacts within project schedules.
  • Communicate project status and challenges effectively.
  • Meet with project teams, clients, owners, and various stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Three or more years of experience in project controls and CPM scheduling within the vertical construction industry.
  • One or more years of experience in project controls for data centers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or a related field. This requirement may be waived with five or more years of direct, vertical construction industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction documents.
  • Knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequences.
  • Experience developing construction project schedules for data center projects.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting,
  • Familiarity with contractual clauses as they apply to planning and scheduling,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously,
  • AACEI PSP or PMI-SP certification(s) preferred.
  • This role requires being full-time on-site.

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 110,000 USD per year (Stillwater, OK)
