Job summary

HydroGeoLogic, Inc. in Reston, VA is seeking a Project Controller II to lead project financial controls, forecasting, and revenue recognition across government and commercial contracts.

You will partner with project managers and leadership to maintain margins and timely financial performance. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in finance or related field, 6+ years in government contracting, strong FAR/DFARS knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with Workday Adaptive Planning to translate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 6+ years of project control or financial management experience in government contracting.
• FAR/DFARS, cost-reimbursable, T&M, and fixed-price contracts knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with project accounting and ERP systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain financial findings to leadership.
• Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage project financial controls from award through closeout, monitoring cost, revenue, and margin.
• Assist PMs in budgets, forecasts, and EACs using Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Lead rolling forecasts and reforecasts in Workday Adaptive.
• Identify overruns, margin erosion, and funding risks; coordinate corrective actions.
• Perform variance analysis and communicate impacts to leadership.
• Support indirect rate management and revenue recognition per contract terms.
• Prepare financial reports and dashboards from Workday Adaptive and ERP systems.
