Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Provide commercial management and project control support for all EPC projects to ensure successful project delivery for Pattern’s portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing budget and forecast allocations.
  • Understanding project performance and able to present and answer questions and justifications for project movements and progress.
  • Manage actuals, commitments, trends, and invoice attestations.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input for the project team.
  • Manage KPIs, earned value, scope control.
  • Compile and present month-end reports focusing on movements within the period, reserve management, and overall project cost attestation.

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related Construction Project Controls experience.
  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in implementing cost control processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Familiar with project revenue and cost development for major capital projects.
  • Ability to track project expenditure and analyze variances.
  • Experience in multi-discipline review of project capital forecasts, accruals, and trend analysis throughout project maturity.
  • Understanding of work breakdown structures and related activities, logic, and progress.
  • Understanding of project financing fundamentals and related deliverables.
  • Support negotiation and management of EPC contracts.
  • Assist in managing contingency and reserves.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical.
  • Ability to compile month-end reports focusing on movements, reserves, and project costs.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Exposure to scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts, and principles.

Technical Skills

  • Maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) and KPI reporting.
  • Recognize processes/actions impacting project finances.
  • Knowledge of estimating, contracting, and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP applications (Power BI, D365, InEight, Oracle).
  • Proficient in project control software (e.g., Excel).

The expected starting pay range is $80,000 - $108,000 USD, with potential variation based on experience, location, and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(k)/RRSP, and employee referral bonuses.
