Job summary

Flowtec Group is partnering with a global manufacturer of specialty water treatment chemicals to appoint a Project Controls Manager to lead controls across a major capital expansion program in the US. The role oversees a ~$200M program from Georgia to Louisiana, owning cost and schedule, with three direct reports and full ownership of project controls processes.

Based at one of the US sites, you will set standards, drive forecast accuracy, manage the Primavera P6 schedule, and report to site

Qualifications

• 10+ years in project controls on capital construction projects.
• Hands-on Primavera P6 proficiency; not an oversight role.
• Capital project experience in chemical, refining or heavy industrial manufacturing.
• EPC or general contractor background preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience managing and developing a small team.
• SAP and InEight advantageous.
• PMI or AACEi certification (PSP, EVP) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Owning project controls across a ~$200M capital program - cost, schedule, forecasting and reporting
• Leading and developing a team of three project controls professionals
• Building and maintaining cost and resource-loaded Primavera P6 schedules from baseline through to closeout
• Running cost control end to end - budget development, commitment tracking, forecasting and earned value analysis
• Analyzing contractor and vendor schedules through baseline development and active construction
• Assessing the schedule and cost impact of design and scope changes, and handling change order analysis
• Driving recovery plans before slippage becomes a problem
• Reporting project status to the site team, plant leadership and corporate stakeholders

Flowtec Group is partnering with a global manufacturer of specialty water treatment chemicals to appoint a Project Controls Manager to lead controls across a major capital expansion program.

Our client is one of the largest producers in its market worldwide, with US manufacturing across Georgia and Louisiana and a capital program running to around $200M. This is a leadership appointment with three direct reports and full ownership of cost and schedule across the portfolio - you'll set the standard for how project controls is run, not inherit someone else's system. The role can be based at any of the three US sites.
