Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a Project Control Engineer to blend engineering design with systems engineering and project management for mechanical engineering products related to optical systems, hardware, electronics packaging, and structural design.

The position develops and maintains project plans, conducts reviews of cost and schedule risks, communicates status among stakeholders, and supports internal process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for Mechanical Engineering scope.
• Maintain project plans with milestones and design controls.
• Coordinate design requirements across development stages and verify artifacts.
• Periodically evaluate project health and risks for ME staff.
• Communicate progress on cost, schedule, and technical risk to stakeholders.
• Support project execution with memos, test plans, and statements of work.
• Interface across multi-disciplinary teams including manufacturing, procurement, and test facilities.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and lessons learned.
