Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a Project Engineer in Agile Mission Systems to define and execute program plans and lead strategic objectives across multiple UAS platforms in San Diego, CA.

This role shapes system architecture, drives critical design reviews, and coordinates with DoD stakeholders and GA P&Ls. You will be responsible for leading software teams, developing technical volumes, and ensuring milestones are met within cost and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to manage complex programs and teams.
• Experience across hardware and software integration.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams toward major milestones.
• Lead software development efforts following the SDLC with Agile practices.
• Define subsystems requirements and align subcontractor deliverables with milestones.
• Identify system-level risks and develop mitigations.
• Support Open Architectures, AI/autonomy, HMI design and integration efforts.
• Represent programs to stakeholders and assist with proposals and estimates.
