Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Project Civil Engineer to lead site civil design, erosion control, stormwater management, and modeling for energy projects across the US. Hybrid or remote work options are available, with offices in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Chicago, Jacksonville, or Houston.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of experience, leads teams, and drives client communications while overseeing regulatory compliance and design packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Four years of civil engineering experience in site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
• Professional Engineer License in PA, OH, IL, FL or TX or ability to obtain via reciprocity
• Experience leading projects and managing junior staff
• Ability to engage in business development activities
• Strong coordination with CAD designers, GIS analysts and regulators

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution including scope, schedule and budget management
• Design stormwater management and erosion control systems
• Analyze utility crossings and environmental constraints
• Prepare design reports, drawings, and contract documents
• Manage permitting with regulatory agencies
• Perform hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for stormwater designs
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide construction-phase support and issue resolution
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to support business development
• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing
• Ensure adherence to standards and regulations
• Perform related work as assigned
