Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. The successful candidate will lead site civil design for energy projects, manage erosion and sediment control plans, and oversee stormwater design and hydrologic modeling.

The role requires 4–7 years of relevant experience, PE licensure in eligible states (PA, OH, IL, FL, or TX or reciprocity), and the ability to work in a hybrid or remote setup from multiple office locations including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Four years of experience in civil engineering, with site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
• Professional Engineer License in PA, OH, IL, FL, or TX, or ability to obtain via reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Leads management of projects: schedules, budgets, client communication, and QA of design deliverables.
• Designs stormwater systems and erosion control measures.
• Performs hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support design.
• Prepares construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Oversees permitting: SWPPP, stormwater plans, erosion control; collaborates with agencies.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering and environmental principles.
• Provides construction-phase services and resolves on-site issues with contractors.
• Engages with clients and stakeholders to communicate goals and progress.
• Mentors junior staff and supports business development.
• Follows regulations and company standards.
