Job summary

Talentify is hiring a Buyer III in Westborough, MA for an onsite, permanent role. You will manage end-to-end procurement for PCBs, components, plastics, and sheet metal, including sourcing non-contracted parts, and support MAR status in APEX while liaising with the customer focus team.

You will advise PPV, participate in E&O mitigation with suppliers and program managers, and ensure ISO standards are followed across quality systems. Aerospace/defense experience and ITAR knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in aerospace/defense and ITAR compliance preferred.
• Proficient with MRP/ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Strong negotiation, communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end management of assigned commodities including PCBs, components, plastics and sheet metal; sourcing and negotiation of non-contracted parts.
• Execute and status the MAR in APEX; liaison for customer interface.
• Advise on PPV based on material availability to the program manager.
• Support E&O mitigation with supplier and program manager; pursue reduction/return opportunities.
• Dispositon non-conforming material (NCM).
• Report material status to the Client focus team for related programs.
• Ensure supply chain strategy and supplier selection align with Client objectives.
• Support NPI; participate in cost reduction initiatives and lead-time reviews.
• Adhere to ISO standards across Quality Systems; support 6S objectives.

Due to ITAR and/or CUI compliance, this position requires candidates to be U.S. citizens.

The Buyer III is responsible for the review and execution of sourcing requirements generated by weekly MRP material requirements and to report status to key Customer Focus Team (\"CFT\") members. Mentor and support the development of buyers at levels I and II.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Responsible for end-to-end management of assigned commodities including, but not limited to, build-to-print PCBs, components, plastics and sheet metal, including sourcing and negotiation of non-contracted parts.
• Run, execute, manage and status the MRP Action Report Form (MAR) in APEX, while being the liaison for customer interface.
• Responsible to advise the Purchase Price Variance (PPV) based on material availability to the program manager.
• As part of the E&O mitigation process, work with supplier & program manager for reduction and/or return opportunities of material.
• Resolution of non-conforming material (\"NCM\") disposition.
• Work directly with assigned customer focus team to report material status for all related material of assigned programs.
• Ensure that Client supply chain strategy and objectives are incorporated in the solicitation and supplier selection processes.
• Support NPI (New Product Introduction), as necessary.
• Participate in product cost reduction initiatives, lead-time reviews, and other special projects as necessary.
• Support and follow all ISO standards related to the CLIENT’s various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
• Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.

WHAT IS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in production purchasing.
• Electronic component purchasing required .
• Proven ability to support department mission by maintaining favorable relationships with peers, subordinates, suppliers and customers.
• Must be flexible and adjust readily to new situations while effectively dealing with ambiguity, stress and uncertainty.
• Strong customer focus with proven service-oriented attitude under all situations.
• Experience in aerospace/defense preferred.
• Quoting experience required .
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, with heavy emphasis on Excel required.
• Proficient in TEAMS preferred.
• Proficient with MRP/ERP systems required . (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Must be able to read and interpret MRP requirements and recognize errors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge of standard purchasing practices required .
• Knowledge of AS9100 requirements, DoD and ITAR regulations preferred.
• Ability to read/write/speak English proficiently required .
• Must be a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and effectively address challenges as they arise.
