The Child Center of NY seeks an Activity Specialist to design and facilitate project-based learning experiences within a specialization, supporting youth across NYC.

Join our network of 1,000+ results-oriented professionals serving more than 40,000 children and families each year across 50 locations. You will collaborate with site leadership, engage participants, and manage materials and documentation to ensure quality programs.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience working with children and/or youth in your specialization.
• Exemplary supervisory skills at elementary level (middle school or high school aged youth) and aptitude for motivating people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership in the planning, development and execution of quality, project-based youth development activities.
• Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with participants, families & school faculty.
• Coordinate events & functions in specialty area such as: showcases, exhibits, productions, culminating events, etc.
• Engage participants in specialty area activities. Provide support through encouragement and delivering resources.
• Prepare related paperwork, materials and implementation supplies. Timely submit all program and certification related documents.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
