Job summary

Lamberte2a0 Cable Splicing is seeking a Project Assistant to assist the project manager with managing projects, providing KPI-based health reports, and maintaining documentation and file systems. You will contact customers, assist with close-outs, and help forecast monthly/project-level activities to ensure timely, accurate project delivery.

You will collaborate with finance, accounts, and other support groups to set up projects in accounting systems and review invoices for accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience delivering OSP Telecommunications services or utility projects.
  • CAPM or PMP certification is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Access, and Project.
  • Understanding of PMI project life cycle and project management concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide meaningful, timely reports using KPIs to help manage project health.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project documentation.
  • Maintain program file system (physical and electronic).
  • Contact customers to obtain project-specific information.
  • Complete project close-out according to company standards.
  • Track accruals weekly and submit end of week.
  • Schedule work and crew make-ups with scheduler for internal/external use.
  • Review subcontractor invoices for production and accurate accounting.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable and Billing to ensure revenue is accounted for.
  • Forecast monthly and yearly for each project/program.
  • Create purchase orders and set up projects in accounting system.
  • Work with Finance, Billing, and other support groups to enable project setup.
  • Identify and remove obstacles to empower Operations to succeed.
  • Monitor project progress, risk, and customer experience quality.
  • Lead efforts to report project status to stakeholders.

What you’ll do
  • You will utilize and provide to management meaningful and timely reports using key performance indicators to aid in managing the health of the project

  • You will develop, maintain and update project documentation

  • You will develop and maintain program file system (physical and electronic)

  • You will contact customers to obtain project specific information

  • You will complete project close-out per company standards

  • You will track accruals weekly and turn in at the end of every week

  • You will schedule work and crew make ups with scheduler for internal and external use

  • You will review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate accounting

  • You will work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to make sure all revenue is accounted for and accurate

  • You will forecast month and year for each project and program

  • You will create purchase orders

  • You will work with internal support groups (Finance & Accounting, Billing, etc.) to set up projects in accounting system

  • You will remove obstacles and empowering Operations to be successful

  • You will constantly manage and monitor project progress, risk and the quality of the customer experience

  • You will manage project level activities which include but is not limited to critical path monitoring/alignment, procurement, resource loading/forecasting/conflict resolution and critical path risk identification/mitigation

  • You will proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems

  • You will lead efforts to gather all project level status to report on project status to all stakeholders

What you’ll need
  • You have Bachelor’s Degree in an industry related field or combination of education and experience

  • You have 2 - 5 years of experience in delivering OSP Telecommunications services or utility related industry

  • You have CAPM or PMP Certification is a preferred

  • You are a problem solver and critical thinker

  • You are proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project

  • You understand the project life cycle as defined by PMI

  • You have the ability to apply project management concepts, and methodology

  • You have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
