Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing is seeking a Project Assistant to support the project manager in coordinating and reporting on ongoing projects within a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate holds a related Bachelor’s degree, 2–5 years in telecom/utilities, and PMI lifecycle knowledge. CAPM/PMP is a plus; strong problem-solving and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an industry related field or combination of education and experience.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in delivering OSP Telecommunications services or utility related industry.
• CAPM or PMP Certification is a preferred
• You are a problem solver and critical thinker.
• You are proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project.
• You understand the project life cycle as defined by PMI.
• You have the ability to apply project management concepts, and methodology.
• You have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and provide management with meaningful and timely reports using key performance indicators to aid in managing project health.
• Develop, maintain and update project documentation.
• Develop and maintain program file system (physical and electronic).
• Contact customers to obtain project specific information.
• Complete project close-out per company standards.
• Track accruals weekly and turn in at end of each week.
• Schedule work and crew make ups with scheduler for internal and external use.
• Review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate accounting.
• Work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to ensure revenue is accounted for and accurate.
• Forecast month and year for each project and program.
• Create purchase orders.
• Work with internal support groups to set up projects in accounting system.
• Remove obstacles and empower Operations to be successful.
• Manage and monitor project progress, risk and customer experience quality.
• Manage project level activities including critical path monitoring, procurement, resource loading/forecasting, and risk mitigation.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems.
• Lead efforts to gather all project level status to report to all stakeholders.

What you'll do

You will utilize and provide to management meaningful and timely reports using key performance indicators to aid in managing the health of the project

You will develop, maintain and update project documentation
