Job summary

Lambert’s Cable Splicing Co. is seeking a Project Assistant to support the project manager in delivering successful programs. You will contribute to reporting, documentation, customer communications, and financial controls across multiple projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 2–5 years in telecom or utilities, and strong MS Office skills. CAPM/PMP is a plus, and the position emphasizes independent work and problem-solving within a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an industry related field or combination of education and experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience delivering OSP telecommunications services or utility related industry.
  • CAPM or PMP certification is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and able to follow PMI project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • You will utilize and provide to management meaningful and timely reports using key performance indicators to aid in managing the health of the project.
  • You will develop, maintain and update project documentation.
  • You will develop and maintain program file systems (physical and electronic).
  • You will contact customers to obtain project-specific information.
  • You will complete project close-out per company standards.
  • You will track accruals weekly and submit them weekly.
  • You will schedule work and crew make-ups with scheduler for internal and external use.
  • You will review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate accounting.
  • You will work with Accounts Receivable and Billing to ensure revenue is accurate.
  • You will forecast month and year for each project and program.
  • You will create purchase orders.
  • You will coordinate with internal support groups to set up projects in accounting system.
  • You will remove obstacles and empower Operations to be successful.
  • You will manage and monitor project progress, risk and customer experience quality.
  • You will oversee critical path monitoring, procurement, resource loading/forecasting, and risk mitigation.
  • You will proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems.
  • You will lead efforts to report project status to stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • You will manage project level activities which include but is not limited to critical path monitoring/alignment, procurement, resource loading/forecasting/conflict resolution and critical path risk identification/mitigation
  • You will proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems
  • You will lead efforts to gather all project level status to report on project status to all stakeholders
What You’ll Need
  • You have Bachelor’s Degree in an industry related field or combination of education and experience
  • You have 2 - 5 years of experience in delivering OSP Telecommunications services or utility related industry
  • You have CAPM or PMP Certification is a preferred
  • You are a problem solver and critical thinker
  • You are proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project
  • You understand the project life cycle as defined by PMI
  • You have the ability to apply project management concepts, and methodology
  • You have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
