• Registration as Professional Architect (PrArch) with SACAP is essential.

• Portfolio of urban development projects required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for urban development projects from concept to completion.
• Develop master plans, conceptual designs, and detailed drawings for large-scale urban projects.
• Manage project teams, consultants and contractors to ensure timely delivery.
• Engage with stakeholders including municipal authorities, developers and community reps.
• Ensure designs comply with zoning, codes, and planning policies in SA.
• Oversee tender documentation and contractor selection.
• Conduct site analyses, feasibility studies and impact assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for urban development projects from initial concept through to final completion.
• Develop master plans, conceptual designs, and detailed architectural drawings for large-scale urban projects.

Requirements

• Professional Architect (PrArch) registration with SACAP is essential.
• A Master's degree in Architecture or Urban Planning is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record in leading significant urban development or planning projects.
• Strong understanding of urban design principles, theories, and best practices.
• Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and GIS tools.
