Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Cultural Resources Specialist in the United States. The role focuses on archaeological surveys, documentation, and mitigation planning across diverse sites.

You will lead field investigations, develop schedules and budgets, and coordinate with agencies to ensure compliance. Ideal candidates have a strong archaeology/anthropology background, 10+ years of experience, and proven ability to manage multiple field crews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field.
• 10+ years in archaeology with at least 5 years in planning, managing and executing investigations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to manage multiple field crews.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel across the US.
• Familiarity with field study design, regulatory framework in cultural resource management, and GIS utilities.
• Ability to work in varied geographic settings in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment, documentation, reports, and findings for archaeological surveys and mitigation plans.
• Develop and monitor tasks, schedules, and cost estimates for cultural resource projects.
• Conduct field work and coordinate with agencies.
• Plan, organize, and supervise medium to large staff on projects.
• Serve as Project Manager on larger projects as needed.
