Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Archaeologist for our Metairie, Louisiana office to support its growing CRM program in the Louisiana/Mississippi area. You will manage archaeological surveys, document sites, supervise field crews, and author technical reports.

You will partner with Resources, Transportation, and Water Groups to plan, staff, and execute cultural resource management efforts, and ensure NRHP/NEPA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions.
• Familiar with field study design, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Manage archaeological field investigations and site documentation.
• Supervise field technicians and crew chiefs.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the South Central region and nationally.
• Manage production of reports for NRHP and NEPA compliance.
• Perform other duties as needed.
