Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Project Accounting Specialist for a Fortune 500 client in San Antonio, TX. You will support the Controllership function by interpreting government contracts and setting up projects in Deltek Costpoint.

Responsibilities include coordinating with project managers, managing a small team of analysts, and tracking metrics to drive compliant project setup processes. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

One of our top clients, a Fortune 500 company supporting federal agencies and government programs, is seeking a Project Accounting Specialist to join their team in San Antonio, Texas.

Key Details:

• Location of company: San Antonio, Texas
• Monday-Friday 8:00am -5:00pm Central Time there is some flexibility in times if needed.
• Primarily remote in office two days a month!!!
• Compensation: 70k-80k depending on experience

Key Responsibilities of the Project Accounting Specialist

This individual will support the Project Accounting function within the Controllership organization. Responsibilities include:

• Reading and interpreting government contracts and setting up projects in Deltek Costpoint based on strong knowledge of both Costpoint and the business.
• Using ServiceNow to initiate and manage project setup requests to ensure seamless and compliant project creation.
• Coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to confirm key contract terms and conditions for project setup.
• Supervising the day‑to‑day work of a team of project setup analysts, including training, reviewing/approving project setup activities, and providing performance feedback.
• Tracking and reporting metrics related to the project setup process to Controllership leadership.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• 2–3 years of experience reading and interpreting government contracts (FFP, T&M, Cost-Type)
• 1–2 years of Deltek Costpoint experience supporting project setup/accounting in a U.S. Federal government contractor environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu)
• Supervisory experience
