Job summary

Fortis Industries, Inc. DBA - LTS, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Project Control Accountant to support the corporate accounting team, reporting to the Corporate Director of Finance and Administration.

The position is fully onsite and focuses on project setup, cost baselines, forecasts, and monthly close. The candidate will work with Deltek Costpoint, Excel, and Cognos, ensuring accurate project accounting across multiple contracts and coordination with accounting, contracts, and operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of project accounting support for government contracts.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Set up projects in CostPoint (new awards, modifications).
• Develop project cost/schedule baselines and budgets.
• Monitor actuals and resolve issues.
• Track outstanding project commitments (travel, subcontracts).
• Develop monthly forecasts and EACs; perform variance analysis.
• Monitor burn rate vs. funding remaining; report findings.
• Initiate at-risk forms for projects required to perform at risk.
• Analyze project reports to identify issues; communicate status.
• Support Month End Close with project data and answers.
• Identify and analyze project risk; assist in reviews.
• Assist in contract closeouts; other duties as assigned.

Project Control Accountant

Job Summary

The Project Control Accountant shall report directly to the Corporate Director of Finance and Administration and will support the Corporate Accounting Team. This position is fully onsite.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs Project Setup in CostPoint (including new awards, modifications, etc)
• Develops project cost/schedule baselines and budgets
• Monitors project actuals and resolves issues
• Monitors outstanding project commitments (e.g., travel, subcontracts)
• Develops monthly project financial forecasts/EACs and conducts variance analysis
• Monitors the project's burn rate against funding remaining
• Initiates and routes at risk forms for projects that are required to perform at risk
• Analyze project reports to identify and resolve issues
• Performs monthly unbilled analysis
• Communicates project status and findings to Project and Operations Management monthly at a minimum
• Assist accounting with Month End Close providing project financial data and resolving questions
• Identifying and analyzing project risk
• Track, review and approve contract required uplift (COLA, Danger Pay, etc.).
• Development and execution of internal and external project reviews
• Assist in Contract Closeouts
• Other Duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business related field preferred
• 5+ years experience providing project accounting support for services contracts for government customers
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated, proactive
• Track record of delivering well-organized and accurate work
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work well with accounting, contracts, and project personnel to accomplish tasks
• Deltek Costpoint Project Module Proficiency
• MS Excel Proficiency (VLOOKUP / SUMIF formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
• Cognos experience preferred
• Strong skills in MS Suite of products
• Experience using MS SharePoint team sites
• Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and view information displayed on a computer screen.
• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
• Must be able to get along well with all levels of the organization and excel in a team oriented environment.
• Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours.
• Demonstrated efficiency in English, spelling, punctuation, and writing skills.
• Ability to comply with all other requirements as specified within the management level PCI Federal's Personnel Policies and Procedures.
• May be required to undergo a standard background check along with verification of education requirements.

This position requires an employee to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance; reach, push, and pull drawers and doors open and closed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
