Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Associate II to support our finance team in Northbrook, IL. This intermediate clerical role combines routine tasks with some analysis under general supervision.

You will handle time-sensitive processes, maintain data accuracy, assist in project accounting from initiation to close-out, and help develop junior staff while upholding confidentiality and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in accounting or related field.
• Minimum two years office experience, preferably in accounting.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel; QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Workday experience a plus; attention to confidentiality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manages high volume of simple to moderately complex processes including billing, accounts payable, payroll, and/or collections.
• Provides general project accounting support from initiation through close-out.
• Provides general administrative support, including phone support and filing.
• Ensures data integrity and accuracy of time entry, reimbursements, and billings.
• Assists in developing entry-level accounting staff.
