Job summary

Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) in Northbrook, IL is seeking an Accounting Associate II to provide accounting support, handling tasks from routine to moderately complex with supervision.

You will assist with company billing, accounts payable, payroll, and collections, and contribute to project accounting from initiation to close-out while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher in accounting or related field.
• Minimum two years office experience, preferably in an accounting department.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or QuickBooks.
• Workday experience a plus.
• Detail-oriented nature and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manages a high volume of simple to moderately complex processes including company billing, accounts payable, payroll, and/or collections.
• Provides general project accounting support from initiation through close-out.
• Provides general administrative support including phone support and filing.
• Ensures integrity and accuracy of data (time entry, employee expense reimbursements, billings, etc.).
• Assists in the development of entry level accounting staff.
