Addison Group is seeking a Project Accountant to support project accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, purchasing, and financial analysis for a growing organization in California. The role partners with Project Management and FP&A to ensure accurate project financials and monitor profitability.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of project accounting experience, with strong knowledge of WIP, job costing, project billing, and percentage-of-completion accounting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of project accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of WIP, job costing, project billing and % complete
• Detail-oriented, thoughtful, self-motivated and dependable
• Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills with detailed financial data
• Experience with ERP or project accounting system

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile monthly WIP schedules for active projects
• Review costs, progress billings, estimated costs to complete and % complete
• Perform job cost variance analysis at the cost-code level
• Investigate discrepancies between WIP reporting and the general ledger
• Monitor budgets, commitments, and remaining costs
• Support estimating, billing, and project financial control improvements
• Provide financial insight to Project Management and leadership
