Job summary

VIP Executive Search partners with a real estate development organization in Downtown Miami to recruit an experienced Project Accountant – Development / Real Estate. You will oversee project financials, review contractor payments, manage loan draws, and support month-end close with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 2 years of full-cycle accounting, strong Excel skills, GAAP knowledge, and experience in construction or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Experience with loan draws, job costing, and reconciliations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Project Accounting: Monitor project financial performance and review contractor payment applications, subcontractor invoices, and lien waivers.
• Construction Loan Draws: Prepare and submit loan draw packages, coordinate with lenders, and manage funding and payments.
• Financial Reporting: Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end closing.
• Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile multiple bank accounts, monitor cash flow, and identify potential liquidity concerns.
• Accounts Payable: Oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, and compliance documentation.
• Job Cost Management: Track project budgets, expenditures, and contractual commitments while providing financial analysis.
• Process Improvement: Support accounting efficiencies, reporting improvements, and collaboration across departments.
