Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Project Accountant to manage financial performance across projects from setup to closeout. You will collaborate with Project Managers/Controllers to ensure contracts are followed, budgets are controlled, and revenue recognition complies with GAAP/ASC 606.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of project accounting experience in professional services, familiarity with Deltek Vision/VantagePoint, Oracle, or Procore, and strong Excel skills for analytics and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 3‑5 years of project accounting experience, preferably in an A/E, professional services, or project-based environment.
• Understanding of GAAP/ASC 606 and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems commonly used in A/E firms (e.g., Deltek Vision/VantagePoint, Oracle, Procore, or similar) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).

Responsibilities

• Monitor project performance with data analytics and provide financial status comments.
• Coordinate accurate project setups and review contract terms with PMs/Controllers.
• Manage project budgets and changes, per policy and contract terms.
• Ensure subconsultants' POs align with project financials.
• Record revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP/ASC 606.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support audits and compliance.
